From the lush meadows of its countryside to the cobblestone streets of its cities, there is something to delight the senses everywhere we turn in Ireland. So journey with us during the week of July 20th to Emerald Crossing: An Irish Adventure Through Psalm 23. Every stop along our path will teach us about the Good Shepherd and how he cares for his sheep.
The Emerald Crossing drama is a major part of our VBS program. This year our story focuses on Grandpa Fitz, a life-long Irish sheep farmer, who has never lived anywhere but the family farm. But now he's grown older, and the farm is getting to be too much for him. He puts the farm up for sale, but his son surprises by moving back to Ireland after quitting his long-time law practice in New York City. A greedy, corrupt county official has other ideas and tries to force the sale until his evil plan is discovered. Grandpa Fitz draws strength from God, the Good Shepherd, and his wayward son finds faith, all through Psalm 23.
