1. Attach your one-page résumé, which shall include bar association, business/professional, and civic activities in which you have participated. List any awards or special recognitions you have received. Also separately attach a professional photo that can be used in Class materials.
2. On a separate page, provide a personal statement that describes: (a) what leadership means to you; (b) why you wish to participate in this program; and (c) how you expect to use your experience in this program.
3. Please provide a letter of recommendation from someone who has known you for at least two years.
4. There is a $400 administrative/enrollment fee ($550 if you plan to stay overnight, which is strongly encouraged). This enrollment fee covers the program materials and all other expenses. If necessary, the $400 fee may be made in installments, with $150 due upon acceptance and the remainder due by September 15.
5. Stipend Award: We are excited to be able to offer up to two $250 stipends this year, sponsored by the Dallas Bar Association, in honor of DAYL Past President (2008) and former Leadership Class Facilitator Karen D. McCloud who passed away in 2020. Please indicate your need on an additional page and include it with your application. The stipends will be given to individuals who have the desire to emulate Karen's zest for life and bar service.
