• Dallas Association of Young Lawyers

    2022 Leadership Class
  • Application Deadline
    Monday, June 27, 2022

To apply for the DAYL Leadership Class, complete the information below. The application deadline is Monday, June 27, 2022.

Each year, DAYL selects a group of young lawyers from all practice areas, firm sizes, experience levels, and backgrounds to participate in its award-winning DAYL Leadership Class. The DAYL Leadership Class provides opportunities for young lawyers to develop relationships with local city leaders, network with one another, and deploy their newly-honed leadership skills. The DAYL Leadership Class promotes leadership development within the bar association as well as within Dallas’s nonprofit and civic communities and provides a forum for identifying the many ways to give back to North Texas.

Led by a team of experienced Class Facilitators, including Dena DeNooyer Stroh, General Counsel with NTTA; Mark Melton, Partner at Holland & Knight; Rebekah Brooker, Partner at Scheef & Stone; Terry James, Terry A. James Law Firm, Riqui Bonilla, Principal at Fish & Richardson, and Ann Chao Sheu, Mpowered Journey,  the DAYL Leadership Class experience will be a unique and beneficial experience for all young lawyers (age 36 and under or in first five years of practice). With over 800 alumni, including judges, general counsels, law school professors, city leaders, and law-firm name partners, the DAYL Leadership Class has been emulated by bar associations across the state and the country and serves as a gateway for leadership among lawyers in the North Texas area.

This year’s Leadership Class is scheduled to a hybrid of both in person and virtual programming for the lunch meetings and will be conducted in person for the happy hours and mandatory retreat. DAYL reserves the right to change all in-person events and activities to virtual events should the need arise.
