York County SPCA Volunteer Mission Statement

The York County SPCA volunteers provide assistance to the organization's staff by completing basic animal husbandry, demonstrationg care and compassion to the adoptable pets, and adhering to the organization's rules and regulartions.

Volunteers must:

Be 18 years or older.
Have a commitment to the YCSPCA's mission to serve the animals and residents of York County.
Comply with the rules, core values and mission of the YCSPCA.
Demonstrate an ability to handle sensitive issues, situations, and
information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Purchase a volunteer T-shirt and a volunteer nametag (total of $20) that will be worn whenever volunteering. If you plan to be a dog walker, it will cost an additional $10 for your leash.

Volunteer Hours:

Clinic hours are 7-9AM and 10AM-4PM, Monday- Friday
Dog walker and canine enrichment hours are 11AM-3PM, Sunday-Saturday
Feline enrichment and small animal enrichment hours are 10AM-3PM, Sunday-Saturday
Lobby greeter hours are 8AM-4PM Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Petco hours are 9AM-12PM, 1PM-3PM, and 4PM-7PM Saturday-Sunday

I understand that volunteer hours depend on the activity, and volunteer hours are generally between 10:00AM and 3:30PM. Exceptions include holidays, special events, or other circumstances as announced.*

I understand that the registration fee / starter kit to volunteer for the YCSPCA will be $20 for non-dog walkers (includes t-shirt & name tag) and $30 for dog walkers (includes t-shirt, name tag, and leash).*
