  • Welcome to our Online Registration Form. If you have any questions during the registration process please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Applying for your school with YWAM An Cuan is easy. Things you’ll need before you start:

    1. Start by filling the application form online. [Please note that you will be able to save unfinished applications through the "save" button on the bottom of each page.]

    2. In the application form you will need three referees: a close Christian friend, your pastor/church leader, and a teacher/employer. To send these you will need their email addresses. References will be automatically emailed to the referees once the application is submitted.

    3. In this application, there are two sections related to medical health, to be completed by your medical practitioner and yourself. The medical health form for your practitioner can be found after application submission.

    4. As part of your application, you will need to submit a police background check. This should be emailed to registrar@ywamancuan.org with the subject line: (APPLICAN'TS NAME) DTS BACKGROUND CHECK. Please note that your application will not be considered complete until this has been received.

    5. Once you’ve finished completing your application you will need to pay the registration fee of £35. You can do this through the PayPal link at the end of the application.

    6. Applicants from outside of the UK need to have a visa to train with us. You will need to take the cost of this into consideration and allow plenty of time to complete the application and visa process.

Our online application system is the easiest and quickest way to apply, but if you are somewhere without good internet connection you can contact us and we’ll help you to find a solution.

  • VISA NATIONAL SUPPLEMENT/UK IMMIGRATION

We will advise you on any course of action you should take to obtain a visa only after acceptance. Help or sponsorship will only be given by YWAM to accepted students who have successfully completed the application process.

    CONFIDENTIAL REFERENCES & MEDICAL REFERENCES

All the references are confidential, so they should arrive sealed separately from the main application.
IMPORTANT: the Medical and Doctor reference must arrive in a separate envelope somehow marked that it contains those specific Reports (as only the medical officer on our end is allowed to see it). The first part, the medical report, is completed by you, and the second part is completed by your doctor, who should also receive the first part to mail in with the second.

APPLICATION DUE DATE & PROCESSING PROCEDURE

Applications are usually due at the latest, 4 weeks before the school starts, although enrollment may close as capacity is reached. Only completed applications (i.e. with references and fee paid) are reviewed, and applications are usually processed in order of completion (first come, first serve). Applications may not be reviewed immediately, as the appropriated staff may have other responsibilities (meaning they’re occasionally out of town or on outreach, etc., sometimes for extended periods).

CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK & CHILD PROTECTION

YWAM Ireland requires all of its volunteers, students and staff to provide a satisfactory criminal history check due to our Child Protection policy. Towards the end of the application process, the applicant will be provided with a document suggesting how to do this. You may request a copy of our Child Protection policy at any time to review.

  • We reserve the right to ask you to have a medical reference completed by a medical doctor (or psychiatrist if appropriate), depending on the advice of our Medical Officer.

  • The following inquiries are not required and are based on self disclosure. We ask about wellbeing and mental health with the expectation to support our staff and students and have quality communication. If you would rather go over these questions in the interview portion of the application process, please make a point to bring it up.

    SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES:

Youth With A Mission is a faith based mission. Therefore, we are open to prayerfully considering applications from those who through unemployment or other circumstances are lacking the total finances. If together with the church, we felt it right that they are to attend the DTS we would work out a financial scheme on an individual basis. Without such
an arrangement in place before the school starts we are unable to accommodate students who do not have their fees in full. Please do not hesitate to contact us if this applies to you.

  • YWAM, as an agency working with children and young people, is exempt from the UK Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and therefore applicants must declare all previous convictions. Police record checks can be made by YWAM to verify information.

    • If needed, I understand that, if I am a UK resident, a check will be made with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and that it is an offence for any person to commence Regulated Activity without first providing a valid DBS Disclosure. If I am an overseas resident, I understand that I will need to provide a police check from my home nation if the position I am appointed to requires it.

    • I agree to inform the person within the YWAM base/team responsible for processing applications for Disclosure and Barring Service checks if I am convicted of an offence after I take up any post within YWAM Ireland. I understand that failure to do so may lead to the immediate suspension of my work with children or vulnerable adults and/or the termination of my work/training association with YWAM.

    • I agree to inform the person within YWAM responsible for processing applications for the Disclosure and Barring Service if I become the subject of a police and/or a social services/(Children’s Social care or Adult Social Services)/social work department investigation.
    • I understand that failure to do so may lead to the immediate suspension of my work with children or vulnerable adults and/or the termination of my work/training and association with YWAM.
