TRIO Intake

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program that offers academic advising, tutoring, transfer planning, career exploration, and financial aid and scholarship assistance to 150 students every year at UW-Whitewater Rock County. To receive TRIO services, students must meet U.S. Department of Education eligibility criteria. Students whose parents have not earned a four-year degree, students whose family income is less than 150% of the poverty level, and students who have a documented learning or physical disability are eligible. TRIO does not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or veteran status.

Note: You may have had an IEP or a 504 Plan in high school. These are not sufficient at UW-Whitewater Rock County. If you wish to receive accommodations, you must contact the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) at csd@uww.edu.

If accepted into the TRIO Program, I will:
• Attend Kickoff.
• Attend all classes and complete assigned work in a timely manner.
• Meet with my TRIO Advisor regularly.
• Participate in tutoring as recommended throughout the academic year.

I understand that by applying for the TRIO Program I agree to the following:
• The eligibility information given above is true to the best of my knowledge.
• Program staff have my permission to release or obtain the academic and financial records necessary for determining my eligibility and continued participation, and for follow up as required by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Program staff have my permission to communicate with university faculty and staff on my behalf.
• Failure to meet the expectations stated above may result in my dismissal from the TRIO Program.
