  • Team Canada application form - 2026 FCI IGP World Championship

  • The 35th FCI IGP World Championship will take place on September 7-13, 2026 in Tychy, Poland.

    The top six (5 + 1 reserve) eligible dog-handler teams at the CWDF IGP All-breed Nationals, will earn positions on the Canadian Team for the 2026 FCI IGP World Championship. 

    Ties will be broken by high protection score, then high obedience score. Should one of these top six handlers reject or be ineligible for their position, the position(s) will be filled by the next highest score eligible dog-handler team. 

    To participate in the FCI IGP World Championship, dogs must be registered with the CKC for a minimum of 6 months at the time of the event.

  • PREREQUISITES

  • Candidates who qualify to represent the Canadian Working Dog Federation at the 2026 FCI IGP World Championship must demonstrate/adhere to the following:

    Conduct that exemplifies good sportsmanship and self-discipline.

    A strong desire to attend the FCI IGP World Championship and represent Canada and the Canadian Working Dog Federation in an international competition.

    The handler must be a member in good standing of the CWDF member club of their dog’s breed, and a member of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC).

    As per FCI Regulations, to participate in the FCI IGP World Championship, dogs must be registered with their National Kennel Club for a minimum of 6 months at the time of the World Championship.

    The handler must have legal residence in Canada for more than 12 months and be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.

    The dog/handler team must remain the same throughout the qualification process and the FCI IGP championship.

    Competition is restricted to one dog per handler.

    The handler is not required to be the owner of the declared dog.
