Officer Bio's
Terry Garrison, EA ATA ATP – President/Treasurer/Webmaster
Terry is a life-long resident of the Easley community and has been married to his wife, Dottie, for 38 years. Terry is a retired accountant/tax preparer (Garrison Business & Tax Services) in Easley for the past 52 years. He has worked with the Miss South Carolina program for the past eighteen years serving as business manager of the Miss Easley Scholarship Pageant Program, the Miss Easley-Liberty-Pickens Triple Crown Scholarship Pageant Program and the Miss Easley/Clemson Scholarship Program. He has been a scholarship provider for Miss South Carolina for the past three years. He enjoys working with the Miss South Carolina contestants making sure they are visible in the community along with making the public aware of the community service and scholarship opportunities the girls are involved with. Terry is on the Miss South Carolina approved judges list and is also the Local Executive Director of the Miss Greater Easley Scholarship Pageant.
Other community involvement: Member of the Easley Rotary Club since 1977 with 40 years perfect attendance. Terry is a ten times Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society. He has served as club secretary since 1991 and was president in 1994/95. He has worked with the Rotary BBQ fund raiser since its inception in 1991, Rotary Interact Jobs Fair at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center, Sister Club Relationship with the Rotary Club of Tanoan D-3820 Philippines, and Rotary Exchange Students. At Siloam Baptist Church he served as treasurer and assistant music director. At Shiloh United Methodist Church he served as finance committee, music leader, and administrative board chairman. Other activities include the Business Advisory Council at BJ Skelton Career Center, President of the South Carolina Tax Council, board member and treasurer of the Easley Foothills Playhouse, treasurer for the Pickens County Free Medical Clinic, board member and treasurer of Greater Greenville Concert Association, board member, treasurer and president of Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce, board member, treasurer, and chairman of Palmetto Baptist Health Easley Foundation, treasurer of Easley Development Corp., member of the Endowment committee with the United Way of Pickens County, major sponsor for the Big League World Series since 1999, and hosted teams with the Big League World Series from the Philippines and Saipan. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Easley Accommodation Tax Committee. Terry has been awarded the SCTC service award.
Brenda Russell – Vice-President
Brenda Russell – an enrolled agent with 28 years experience in tax and accounting.
She is the owner of By The Numbers, Inc., Spartanburg, SC.
Brenda has been married to Walter Russell for 40 years and has one daughter, Caitlin A. Russell, the joys of her life.
She enjoys reading, baseball, and spending time with her family. The beach is her favorite place to be.
Brenda is privileged to work with great clients and a super staff.
She is a member of Wellford Baptist Church, Lady Gainsborough Debutante Club, SC Tax Council, NATP, and NAEA.
Dawn Hospelhorn, AP ATA ABA ATP – Past President
Dawn Hospelhorn, – a member of SCTC since 1994, serving on the board since 2016.
She is a Florida native having moved to South Carolina in 1986. She has a BS in accounting from Southern Wesleyan University, and an office in Seneca, SC.
Dawn is married and has two children and enjoys reading, boating, and billiards.
Jodi Williams – Secretary
Jodi has served as SCTC for over 20 years and has been employed with Hess Financial Planning since 1997.
She is married and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. She attends Kershaw Second Baptist.
Jodi has been past treasurer for the AJHS Band and team mom for travel ball.
Hobbies she enjoys are watching her kids play sports, camping, putting puzzles together and family time.
Jodi has been awarded the SCTC service award.
Alesia W. Avery - Semniar Director & IT Technician
Born in Virginia, Lives in SC since 1989 with her husband Richard. They have two grown sons and three Boston Terriers. Attended Western Carolina University (Bachelors) Accounting and Horry Georgetown Tech (Associates) Information Technology with strong emphasis on programming languages.
Currently works as a Corporate Liaison for Associa, a property management company located in United States, Mexico and Canada.
Michael Munden, CPA ChFC CLU – Director
Practice Areas: Civil and criminal tax matters, ERISA and qualified plans, wills, trusts and estate planning, estate and trust administration, and probate litigation.

Biography: Mike Munden is a tax attorney who has been practicing in Myrtle Beach since 1978. He graduated in 1972 from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and in 1975 from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. Mike also holds the CPA, ChFC and CLU designations, and is a frequent speaker on tax, estate planning, probate and retirement plan topics. He is a member of the Horry County and American Bar Associations, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and was a long time member of the Planning Board and Faculty of the Annual University of South Carolina Retirement and Benefits Management Seminar, and the Coastal Carolina Legacy Advisory Counsel (President 2006-2008). Mike is a lecturer at Coastal Carolina University teaching Financial and Managerial Accounting in the D. Wyatt Henderson Department of Accounting and also teaches Law for Accountants, Legal Environment of Business, and Estate and Gift Tax in the Master of Accountancy program. He is also a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do and a PADI certified Dive Master.
Tanya Thomas, CPA – Director
Tanya received her CPA in 1993 after graduating from Furman University in 1987. Tanya became the managing partner at Edwards Thomas Group in 1999. The Edwards Thomas Group provides tax services, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll services and financial consulting services. Tanya has developed a specialty in tax and financial reporting for Property Owners Associations and other Common Interest Realty Associations. Tanya is a Board Member with SC Tax Council and serves on the Board of the North Greenville Crisis Ministry as Treasurer. Tanya is married has four children and three grandchildren. She and her husband Mark are active members at Pebble Creek Baptist Church. Living in Travelers Rest, SC she and her husband enjoy all the activities that are offered in the Upstate area.
Cliff Adams, EA, ATP, ATA – Director
Cliff Adams has been solving tax problems since 1989. His office is in Seneca, SC.
He is a SC native. He has a BS in Environmental Health from East Tennessee State University. He has served on the board of the SC Tax Council and the board of the SC Society of Enrolled Agents. He is also a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals. Cliff has been married to Beverly for over 40 years. He enjoys running, music, and pistol competitions.
Michael Willis, EA – Director
Mike began practice in 1978 and established Willis Tax & Accounting in 1996. He worked for 18 years at AT&T in their marketing, public relations, and comptroller departments.
He has been married for 53 years and has two children and four grandchildren. He is a founding member of Grace Church of Columbia. Hobbies enjoyed are youth sports where he has been involved in coaching, sponsoring and fund raising, reading, and spending time with family at the beach.
Scott Ravan – Director
J. Scott Ravan is the CFO of Columbia Development Group, LLC in Columbia, SC. His accounting career began in 1997. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with an Economics degree and then with his JD from the Law School. Scott is a native South Carolinian and has 3 sons and 1 daughter. He enjoys cycling and the Gamecocks. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of Camp Discovery in Blythewood, SC and Senior Resources in Columbia.
Brandi Clark Bushnoe, EA – Director
Brandi moved to Myrtle Beach in 1998 and graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She was hired by R. Michael Munden, Esq., P.A. in 2004 as a legal assistant and became office manager in 2010.
Brandi passed the SEE exam in February of 2015 and is licensed as an Enrolled Agent to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service, in both civil and criminal matters. She is also a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents.
Brandi is married to Brian and they have two children. She enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family.
Bret Davis = Director
Bret Davis is the principal in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina law firm of Davis & Boyd, LLC, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, medicaid planning, elder law, probate, corporate law, tax law, and real estate. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Horry County Bar, North Carolina State Bar, and North Carolina Bar Association. He is also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina. Bret served on the Myrtle Beach Board of Zoning Appeals from 2000-2002 and has served on the Horry County Probate Advisory Council since its inception
He has also been a member of the Grand Strand Area Estate Planning Council. Bret has lectured to various estate planning, special needs, and real estate groups regarding various legal topics. He received his B.S. degree from the University of South Carolina and his J.D. degree from Mississippi College School of Law, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Corporate Tax and served as President of the Environmental Law Association. Bret is also a Certified Public Accountant.
