This is an OPEN EXHIBIT. We reserve the right to not display art that contains hate speech; contains racist, violent or cruel images or symbols; encourages racism, violence or cruelty; contains pornographic images; or vilifies or demeans individuals or groups of people. Fortunately, we rarely have to reject art for these reasons. But we reserve the right to do so, at our sole discretion. We thank you for respecting all guidelines listed.
General Guidelines:
The Title and Theme of the show is “True Colors: Celebrating Pride.” We are inviting artists to submit works in a color scheme that represents one of colors on the LGBTQ+ Progressive Flag. The artworks will be displayed throughout the exhibition space grouped together by color.
Types of Work to be Considered:
· Artists are limited to two entries with a 2D Size Limit of 24” x 24”. There is a non-refundable $20 Entry Fee for up to two works.
· 3-D Artists are welcome to submit, however we have limited areas for 3-D works to be safely displayed, so acceptance of these pieces will be on a first come, first serve basis. Accepted 3-D artists must provide pedestals. We encourage 3-D artists to explore ways to hang their work on a wall.
Condition of Work Submitted:
· All works must be properly wired and ready to hang. Picture frame wire should not be above the frame. Picture frame wire is a multi-strand wire. Do not use monofilament. No sawtooth hangers.
· All submitted artwork must be dry and ready to hang.
· Frames must be in good condition (no scratches, chips or loose corners).
· Works on canvas must be framed or have finished edges.
· Gallery wrapped canvas is acceptable, provided that no staples are showing and the edges are clean and free of smudges and smears that are not in keeping with the stylistic intent of the artwork.
Sales:
· All work on exhibit must be for sale. No POR (Price on Request) or NFS (Not for Sale)
· There is a 70/30 split for any work sold - 70% to artist, 30% to Creative Liberties.
· The artist is responsible for filing sales in accordance with State and Federal Tax regulations.
Statement of Responsibility:
· All entries are left at the owner’s risk. Although precautions are taken, Creative Liberties is not responsible for damage or theft. Submission of work to any exhibition constitutes agreement on the part of the artist to provisions here set forth.
Disclaimer/Photo Release:
· Exhibiting artists consent to the use of their name and the artworks image(s) for purposes of promotion and advertisement by Creative Liberties. The artist waives any claim, including any claim for invasion of the right of privacy or copyright, against Creative Liberties or its owners.
