In addition to items previously mentioned, the facility that hosts the NJCAA DI Softball Championship must also meet the following requirements:
- ADA Compliant
- No tobacco use at NJCAA event
- Public Address and Sound System
- Athletic Training Facilities
- Meeting rooms
- Hospitality room for coaches, officials and VIP
- Concessions / Merchandise Sales area
- Press Box / Table area
- Ticket office / gate entry
- Minimum seating capacity of 1,500
- Electronic scoreboard
- Two (2) locker rooms complete with showers
- Use of two (2) practice facilities on site preferred (not required)
- Minimum of two (2) uniformed security guards throughout the tournament
- Separate dressing area for officials (one per gender)
- Dedicated hardwire internet and access to power for NJCAA Network broadcasting
- Dedicated covered and secured from elements facility for NJCAA Network broadcasting.
- Designated seating area for teams/competitors when not playing
- Designated warm up area for teams
- Designated practice time for each team one day prior to the start of the tournament
HOST shall provide the NJCAA exclusive use of a facility for the duration of the tournament that can accommodate 40 games. The facility must have at least four game fields that meet current NCAA Softball dimensions and guidelines outlined in the most recent edition of the NCAA Softball Rulebook. In addition, the facility must be equipped with covered dugouts and lights for night game competition.
Dimensions & Fences
The NJCAA highly recommends game fields that meet the criteria listed in the NCAA Softball Rule Book (Rule 2.11 Fences). Outfield fences at least four-feet (4’) high are preferred.
