Connectively Moving Our Dance

hosted by dance Immersion, is a pre-IABD Conference & Festival gathering in Toronto that focuses on Canadian dance artists of African descent from across the country. This two-day event on January 24 and 25, 2023 includes discussions, movement sharing, and a presenter showcase specifically geared towards Canadian artists. Deadlines and Selection Process:

Applications for Connectively Moving Our Dance will be evaluated by a selection committee of Canadian artists and dance Immersion staff and reviewed based on artistic merit and feasibility within a conference event.

Presenter Showcase Movement Sharing Workshop Panel Roundtable
Presenter Showcase - The time limit for works in the Presenter Showcase is 10 minutes, which includes a member of your team introducing the work.

Sharing Workshops - The time limit for Movement Sharing Workshops is 90 minutes.

Panel – A conversation between colleagues centered on a topic, question or idea presented to an audience. Up to four additional participants can be included in your proposal.

Roundtable – A forum motivated by a specific topic and the desire to discuss and debate with an audience. Up to four additional participants can be included in your proposal.
