Summary of the Youth Development Grant and Committee Goals:
The Youth Development Grant (YDG) is part of the City of St. Petersburg's My Brothers and Sisters Keeper initiative. The purpose of the YDG is to advance the education, workforce participation, and general well-being of at-risk youth residing in the City of St. Petersburg by addressing their need to achieve academic success and financial independence.
The goals of the YDG Review Committee is to evaluate all grant applications received and to make recommendations to the Mayor for funding based on the criteria and conditions set forth in the Youth Development Funding Guidelines and Application. The YDG Review Committee shall ensure that the program(s) or services provided by the organizations are designed to advance the goal of serving at-risk youth.
The Youth Development Grant Review Committee shall consist of eight (8) members. Four members will serve a term of one (1) year. The remaining fourmembers will serve a term of two (2) years. Should members of the Committee need to be replaced because of resignation or incapacity, vacancies will be filled by appointment for the balance of the term. A chair and a vice-chair will be elected by the members by a majority vote of the committee.
