  • Sample Program Evaluation Exercise

The following exercise is designed to ascertain your ability to familiarize yourself with a Standard of Accreditation, read an example self-study response, and then demonstrate your ability to critically evaluate data, formulate questions, and reach conclusions. Read the following excerpt and complete the exercise. Note that there may be multiple correct answers.
  • For the purpose of this problem assume you are a member of the CVTEA and are evaluating Institution ABC for areas of concern for the site team to address or areas that need additional explanation. The information addressing Standard 2 Finances was part of Institution ABC’s Self-study.

Using Standard 2 Finances from the current Accreditation Policies and Procedures of the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities below, and the excerpted sample of a self-study response from Institution ABC to this particular Standard, generate comments and questions for the site team to verify during their site visit regarding Standard 2.

    Examples might include:

    • Do you have questions/concerns about Institution ABC’s financial table as it refers to Standard 2?
    • What questions would you ask to further understand the financial stability and resources available for student learning?

Begin by familiarizing yourself with Standard 2-Finances at this link: https://www.avma.org/education/accreditation/programs/cvtea-accreditation-policies-and-procedures-standards

Next, familiarze yourself with the Institution ABC Financial Table example and then proceed to answer the prompt.

  • Review and Submit Application
