Deadline for Submissions
- All entries must be submitted by midnight on Friday 24th June 2022 regardless of method of entry.
Submission Instructions
- All entries much be accompanied by a hard or online copy entry form
- Entrants may submit an unlimited number of poems, in any of the categories
- All entries much be accompanied by either the hard copy entry form, its emailed version, or online equivalent if using the website facility
- For hard copy entries - the poems, and payment, should be firmly attached to the entry form.
- The poems must be typed or very clearly written in black ink on one side of the paper only.
- The name of the entrant must not appear on the poems themselves.
Entry Fee and Payment Details
- Each poem must be accompanied by a fee of €5 (£4 sterling or $5).
- Payment for entries must be received by midnight on 24th June 2022.
- Payment can be made online via our PayPal web facility or
- We accept personal cheques/ postal orders / international money orders / bankers' drafts (Euros, Sterling, or U.S. Dollars only) made payable to Frances Browne Literary Festival

Shortlist and Winners Announcements
- The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence can be entered into regarding those decisions.
- Winning entries will be announced and awarded during a prizegiving ceremony in Kee’s Hotel, Stranorlar, Co Donegal, on Friday 14th October 2022. Shortlisted competitors are invited to attend the prize-giving, and each will be invited to read a selection of his/her work at the ceremony.
Other terms and conditions:
- All poems must be the unpublished, original work of a living author. Poems must not have been previously published, self-published, published on a website or broadcast.
- No alterations can be made to the poem once it has been submitted, and it is regretted that no entries can be returned.
- Copyright will remain with the competitor, but the Finn Valley Voice in association with the Frances Browne Literary Festival reserves the right to arrange first publication or broadcast of selected poems as it sees fit.
- No Frances Browne Literary Festival committee member or judging panel for the Frances Browne Poetry Competition may enter into the competition.
- Submission of a poem implies the competitor's acceptance of the conditions set out above.
