Love your Compost survey
  • Love your Compost survey

Aiming to get food and garden waste out of rubbish bins across the beautiful Kāpiti Coast.
  • Thank you for taking part in the Love your Compost project.

To find out why this is so important, please visit our website.

To measure the collective work of everyone participating we first need you to answer a few questions about what you currently do with your food and garden waste.

Your responses will be treated confidentially under the Privacy Act 2020 and we will never publish individual responses. Once we have collated the data from the surveys, we will destroy individual survey responses (within 12 months of the survey being taken).

  • As part of our campaign, we'd like to offer you a voucher towards the purchase of a compost bin, worm farm bin, Bokashi bin or collection service. Please fill in your contact details so we can send this to you.

  • How much foodwaste currently goes into your rubbish bin per week? This includes all fruit/veg scraps, egg shells, bones, leftovers, expired foods, tea bags etc.*
  • Do you dispose of any garden waste via your rubbish bin?*
  • Select all options that are currently disposed of in your rubbish bin:*
  • How often does garden waste go into your rubbish bin?*
  • What size rubbish bin does your household have?*
  • When garden waste goes into your rubbish, how much space in the rubbish bin does the garden waste take up on average?*
  • Do you already use any of the following for food or garden waste in your household?

  • Did you know that materials disposed of via in-sink waste disposal units also end up at landfill?

They are filtered out of the waste water at our waste water treatment plants, dried, and then trucked to landfills out of the district.

  • What has motivated you to start composting, worm farming, using a Bokashi bin, or to sign up to a collection service?*
  • Which option do you plan to use your voucher towards?*
  • How did you hear about the “Love Your Compost” campaign?*
