  • This month’s River Basin Days workshop is part of the City Nature Challenge, a global bioblitz where cities compete to see who can make the most observations in a four-day period. Every observation collected during this period is used for monitoring biodiversity and ecological research! Join the FRDC and NatureKidsBC on April 26th at ƛ̓éxətəm Regional Park in Coquitlam as we learn more about insects and submit observations to iNaturalist!

    This program is free of charge as part of the City Nature Challenge.

    This event will take place rain or shine, so please come prepared for the weather.

    WHEN: Sunday, April 26th, 1:30-2:30 PM and 3:00-4:00 PM.

    WHERE: ƛ̓éxətəm Regional Park (meeting location at south/main parking lot, Coquitlam, BC)

    WHAT:

    • Learn about insects and their amazing features.
    • Make observations about insects and their habitats through journals and guides.
    • Document observations using iNaturalist.

    WHO: While everyone is welcome, this workshop is aimed at children and their families.

    COST: This event is free.

Focusing on children ages 5-12 but inclusive of all ages, NatureKids BC is a nature discovery and environmental action organization that helps children form meaningful and enduring connections with nature alongside their families.
