Sacramental Prep Program (Reconciliation/Communion) Registration

OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (formerly RCIA) for Children Registration for students typically 8th grade and under (depending on if a younger sibling is enrolled). Registration Closes: October 10 (10/10). If you or your child is older than 8th grade, please contact Sabina at scarter@hffdl.org.

OCIA (for children) Two Year Program Description

When a child is over the age of 7 the church considers them to be an adult in the church. A child wishing to receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) will be enrolled in this two year program regardless if they are a public school or Catholic school student. They will then receive these sacraments on Easter Vigil of their second year.

Public School Student Requirements:

Year 1 Attends Summer Program Faith Formation. (Registration opens on March 3 at hffdl.org.) Or the Home Based Program. Also, attends the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month (6:00-7:15pm) at Holy Family Church (271 Fourth Street Way) from October- March.
Year 2 Attends Summer Program Faith Formation or the Home Based Program. Also, attends the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at Holy Family Church (271 Fourth Street Way) from October- March and completes other Sacramental Preparation requirements on various weekends in Fall and Spring.

Catholic School Student Requirements:

Year 1 Actively participate in religion class at Catholic School and attends small group sessions October-March on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 6:00-7:15pm Holy Family Church (271 Fourth Street Way).
Year 2 Actively participate in religion class at Catholic School, attend select pre-determined small group sessions, October-March on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 6:00-7:15pm Holy Family Church (271 Fourth Street Way), and completes other Sacramental Preparation requirements on various weekends in Fall and Spring.

These materials will only be used for appropriate purposes and names will not be listed.
