Holders of the CEDIA ESC-T who are transitioning to the new CEDIA Integrated Systems Technician (IST) certification must have recent, on the job work experience that is relevant to the IST certification. Experience is verified by a reference such as a supervisor, business partner, HR Manager, or product supplier.

The IST represents technicians who posses the broad range of skills necessary to install home technology equipment in a residence. The full scope of the exam can be found in the IST Exam Blueprint.
