AMLA Bring the Beat! songwriting and audio production workshops

Bring the Beat! is a songwriting and audio production program that focuses on exploring themes of social justice and anti-violence. The program seeks to engage students to create songs about the value of anti-violence, family, community, and wellness. Students will be working with our teaching artists in 2 modules (Summer and Fall). We base the modules on best research practices, lyric writing, song production, and recording.

Students will learn music theory fundamentals that will enable them to write the song coupled with their group music lessons.

The program is Ten weeks

two sessions a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) a total of 20 sessions

Cohort 1 - 5 weeks: July 25 - August 26 (10 four hour sessions)

Cohort 2 - 5 weeks: September 19 - October 21 (15 two hour sessions)
