We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, one-year placement for an IT Network Security Placement to join the Group IT Department primarily based in our friendly office in Dronfield; agile working will be available. The opportunity will commence in the summer of 2022.
You will gain experience in our busy IT department and will focus on providing end-user support via our helpdesk looking after our 450 employees. You'll also get the opportunity to improve the valuable skills that you have gained during the first few years of your degree, e.g. Security, Networking, and Server Administration.
Key function of the role

Monitoring and resolving security alerts
-
Identifying different levels of threats and working to classify whether true positive, false positive, or benign etc.

Vulnerability testing running scheduled scans of the network and remediating issues

Patch Management updating out-of-date hardware, software, and firmware
-
Training users to help raise their cyber security awareness

Running simulated phishing campaigns
-
Creating content, tips, and guides to share cyber security knowledge

Accurately escalating issues to appropriate parties

Assisting with support calls where able
Key requirements
-
Studying an IT related degree
-
Understand the fundamentals of computer networking
-
Knowledge of secure network technologies and services, and awareness of:
o Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V
o Microsoft Office 365
o Azure
-
Working knowledge of hardware, software, and firmware.

Understanding and enthusiasm for latest IT trends

Strong customer service ethos

Good team working and independent working skills

Outstanding written and spoken communication skills and clear telephone manner
