The SoulDog Grief Project is a long-term study of how we grieve, how we love, and how we connect through sharing our stories of our Soul Dogs.
In my own experiences of moving through grief, I've found the deepest comfort in conversations with others who have journeyed through loss. Over my lifetime as a pet guardian and photographer, I've seen the beauty of healing that sharing our stories can bring.
This project is a calling for those of us who understand that grief is a journey that can lead us to greater compassion, connection, and love.
If you’ve experienced the loss of a Soul Dog in your lifetime, I’d like to hear your story. Perhaps together, we can help to bring light to others as they move through their own grief.
I don't know what the final results of this project will look like yet. Maybe a book or a gallery show or a blog series or all of these things. It will evolve as we create together. My hope is that in whatever forms it takes, it will bring us together as a collective of beautiful souls whose hearts are not empty from loss, but full of love for having experienced life with our Soul Dogs.
For now, the plan is that if you are selected to share your story through the project, we'll schedule a date for an interview where we'll sit together in whatever emotions come up through sharing your story. I'll record audio of our conversation and take photographs (and possibly video) at your home. What we capture will be unique to your story, but the focus will be on details of how you're moving through your grief (and how you honor your Soul Dog's memory). This plan may change, but no matter what it becomes, the goal is that we connect and inspire through sharing our stories.
Please fill out the form below if you are interested in participating.*
*This project is specifically focused on grief at various stages of our journeys, including anticipatory grief before our Soul Dogs have left this world. However, this is not "End-of-Life pet photography." If you are in need of a photo session to capture your dog at the end of their life, please visit my website to book a consultation.
