Our younger parishioners celebrate two essential sacraments of the Catholic faith -- the sacrament of Reconciliation in the fall and the sacrament of First Holy Communion or Eucharist in the spring. At Ascension, sacramental preparation is accomplished through a partnership involving parents, school religion teachers, and catechists. Child's Baptism Information
Ascension is required to verify the baptisms of all children receiving the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. If your child was baptized at Ascension, you are NOT required to provide us a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate. If your child was baptized at any church other than Ascension or in a Christian church of another denomination we will need a copy of their baptismal certificate. Certificates can be uploaded in the form, mailed to the parish office or emailed to tgordon@ascension-parish.com. If your child has not been baptized, please contact the parish office as soon as possible so that baptism can be arranged. Baptism is the first of our sacraments to be celebrated and is the gateway to all of the others.
