In order to keep parents informed in the event of an emergency, or about events and activities at the school, the division will be using the contact information provided to generate phone, text and emails. Parents will automatically receive phone calls and emails in relation to emergencies, school/bus cancellations and general events, but are required to “opt-in” to receive any text messages.
To receive text messages, you must text Y to 978338. You will receive a text back confirming your opt-in is complete. Please note that in order to receive the school newsletter to your email account you must give additional consent in accordance with the Canadian
Anti-Spam Legislation law (CASL). This consent will allow the school to send the following information in the form of a text message or email:
Offers to purchase goods, products, and services such as school apparel, yearbooks, school photos, field trips and hot lunch programs Advertisements for school activities, events, programs, and services for which there is a fee (e.g. field trips, fine arts performances, etc.) School and school council fundraising activities that support our schools, students and programs.
Prairie Rose School Division believes in providing students with greater opportunities for student learning. As a result, the division will be using both Microsoft 365 and Google Docs cloud applications in the classroom. The applications will allow students to collaborate and share student developed content and teacher resources collectively; resulting in an enhanced learning experience. These documents are hosted on external data storage sites and students will be required to have email addresses. For students in grades K-6 email will only be accessible within Prairie Rose. As part of the implementation, students will be instructed on the importance of protecting their private and personal information online.
