How does it work? Hydrocortisone 2.5% cream is 2.5x stronger than the over-the-counter hydrocortisone. It is a topical steroid cream that reduces inflammation allowing the skin barrier to heal.
Where do I use it? Hydrocortisone cream is for the face, genitals, armpit, or areas where two skin areas touch or rub each other such as under the breasts.
How do I use it? When you have an eczema flare, apply hydrocortisone to the affected areas twice daily for up to two weeks. After your flare resolves stop using the medication. We recommend taking a break after your flare resolves an equal number of days that you used the medication for during your flare - this prevents permanent thinning of the skin. For example, if you used the cream twice daily for 9 days to resolve a flare, try not to use it again for 9 days unless absolutely necessary.
Side effects? This medication is generally well tolerated. If you experience severe stinging, worsening of your skin condition, or lack of improvement after 2 weeks please stop usage and visit a dermatologist. Avoid usage longer than 2 weeks, and take regular breaks from usage to prevent permanent thinning of the skin. Avoid getting the medication in your eye as regular exposure to the lens can cause cataracts.
How does it work? Triamcinolone 0.1% cream is a strong steroid cream that reduces inflammation allowing the skin barrier to heal.
Where do I use it? Triamcinolone is for the arms, legs, back, chest, and abdomen.
It is NOT to be used on areas of thinner skin such as the face, groin, armpit, or in areas where two skin areas touch or rub each other such as under the breasts as it can cause permanent thinning of the skin in thesea areas.

Prescription topical medication will resolve current flares, however it is important to follow a hypo-allergenic regimen and moisturize daily to prevent future breakouts.

Hypo-Allergenic Regimen
DO NOT use soap in the shower on areas other than your "smelly areas" - armpits, groin, and buttocks. Soap will only strip your skin's natural barrier. Wash the other areas with water only. DO NOT use dryer sheets, scented laundry detergent, or fabric softener. Chemicals from these can flare eczema.
AVOID harsh chemicals, perfumes, smoke, and over-washing/over-sanitizing your hands. AVOID foods you are allergic to. If you are allergic to cheap jewelry, you may be sensitive to nickel - if so, consider trialing a low nickel diet.
When your flare clears:
During periods when you are clear and not using prescription medication, moisturize daily after showers with vaseline, or a non-scented moisturizer specifically made for sensitive skin.
Because you marked your eczema as moderate:
Once clear, we recommend using your topical medications to typically affected areas once a day on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday), as maintenance therapy to decrease and prevent future flares.
Click next to see the number of tubes of cream we recommend adding to your cart at checkout. This number is based on the body areas affected, and the severity of your eczema.
