Part A Expungement and Pardon Clinic Registration
Please note that this clinic helps on a first-come, first-served basis. It is not guaranteed that you will be seen today. Please read our Scope of Services below to better understand what we can and cannot assist you with in this Part A Clinic.
Scope of Services
The purpose of this clinic's "Part A" services is to help you understand the difference between a pardon and an expungement, the eligibility requirements for each, and the steps involved in the process. PLEASE NOTE: This clinic focuses entirely on criminal records. Please contact the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic (https://law.marquette.edu/mvlc/) for information for help with eviction records.
The person helping you today does not represent you, is not providing you with legal advice, and there is no attorney-client relationship.
We cannot guarantee the outcome of your case, whether that is an expungement or a pardon or something else. We can only provide general guidance and procedural information. Even if you are eligible, asking for a pardon or an expungement may not be appropriate in all cases.
Due to our currently limited resources, we are prioritizing cases in Milwaukee County. We do not assist with cases involving a sex offense or other legal issues we determine to be too complex for our brief, SELF-HELP, nature of our services. If we cannot assist you with an expungement or pardon application, we will provide you with referral information and other resources as appropriate.
All information discussed in this clinic will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed without your consent unless we are required by law to do so.
