The Pupsqueakery Application and Agreement Form Logo
  • Psst...thanks for completing this application! At first glance, you might thing "sheesh, this is a little long - are all these questions really necessary?" I know, because I thought the same thing when we got our dogs! We hand-raise all of our puppies in our home with our children and love them, and we hope you love your puppy, too.

Every family is different, and there are no right or wrong answers.

We know many families have two working adults and we don't expect anyone to be a superhero and quit a day job just to be able to take home a puppy. Every puppy family has different needs, and this application helps us identify who needs what information and what homes might make the best fit. If you're a veteran Dachshund owner, we don't want to waste your time regaling things you already know; by the same token, if this is your first puppy or first Dachshund, we want to make sure you leave prepared for what life with a puppy may bring. -In either case, we want to ensure your puppy is prepared for your routine home life by the time they are off to their forever homes so you can spend more time bonding and less time training. So again, thank you!

*It is very important to fill this out completely, thoroughly, honestly and make sure to ask any questions we may not have covered. This is our way of knowing how and what we need to do to prepare your new Dachshund puppy for you.*

    • Puppy Preference
    • We understand this can be a very exciting time for our potential puppy buyers! Starting at 2 weeks of age we allow our approved buyers on our waiting list to make their picks in the order they were approved. Once you make your pick we require a $200 non-refundable deposit to hold until weaning and ready. Deposit goes towards final purchase price of the puppy. We completely understand the urge for potential puppy parents to want to come visit our puppies. We do not allow any visitors until the puppies are 6 weeks of age. This allows their mothers plenty of time to bond with them. At 6 weeks of age the puppies will also have their first round of shots which protects them against certain illnesses very common in puppies. We post weekly updates (at least!) of our puppies so you will see many photos and videos of the puppies until you are able to come meet them! If you prefer to wait to make your pick until you can meet the puppies we are more than happy to allow you to come pick in person after the puppies are 6 weeks of age. In most cases all of our puppies are placed prior to 6 weeks of age and we are unable to hold puppies without a deposit. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding this and we will work together for a solution.

    • About Puppy's New Family
    • This is where we find out a little more about the puppy's new home and family. Please remember in most cases there is no "right" or "wrong" answer. This is just a way to get to know you!
    • Please tell us a little about where puppy will live as a puppy (we know circumstances change).
    • Ownership Commitment
    • This is where we want to make sure we are all on the same page, please contact us if you have any questions or concerns!
    • What to expect
    • Completing this application is a step in the process to acquiring a puppy from The Pupsqueakery, but it does not guarantee I'll get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's highly unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time.

Once this application is approved, you'll be notified when the puppies are born. As soon as the pups turn 2 weeks old, you will then be required to send a $200 non-refundable deposit within 7 days in order to hold the puppy of your choice.

Please note our deposit policy: once you make a deposit, you are committing to take a puppy from the litter, regardless of whether your gender/color preference is available. Should you elect to not take a puppy from the litter, the deposit is forfeited. We do the best to match preferences. Deposits are non-refundable. From time to time we may decide to keep a puppy out of a litter. We reserve the right to hold puppies. This may mean that certain puppies may not be available for a few weeks while we decide on if we may keep the said puppy or not.  Puppies will go to their new homes at 8-10 weeks, depending on health and readiness. We cannot hold puppies for extended times from this point; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe. Puppies must be picked up within 7 days unless other written arrangements are made.

We have a contract and will not place a puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later, and for that reason it's a bit lengthy. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy.  If you purchase "Pet Only" we require spay/neuter at or before 24 months but NOT before 12 months of age. (Dachshunds that are spayed or neutered too early are more likely to develop hip dysplasia. This is due to the removal of a puppy's hormone producing organs, leading to underdeveloped hip joints.) Proof of the procedure from your vet is required in order for the signed health guarentee and contract to continue to be valid. If by the age of 24 months this is not provided to us, the legally binding contract has been broken. If you break the contract, we reserve the right to repossession.--We have bonded with and love each and every puppy individually from day 1 and just want to see them happy and healthy in their loving forever homes! :)

*Please note: We do not allow any puppy to leave our property prior to 8 weeks of age, NO EXCEPTIONS*
