Please read full disclaimer before filling out the form as listed is important information.
DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a proffessional artist. But, by following these instructions below, I am able to provide the utmost effort and quality of your portrait(s).
(If you decide not to read through these, you are at fault for any changes that come forth with the comission, these are listed for good reason to withdrawl confusion.)
Choosing a Reference Photo - When choosing photos for me to draw off of, I NEED them to be of good quality, which means good lighting, and a general close up of the pet's face and body. If the photo you want drawn is blurry, dark and far away, then I can't recreate the detail in the photo and the portrait will look plain and flat. (examples will be shown at the end of the forum)
Animal Pelts - Plain pelts, though more black or white than anything, and curly fur, is difficult to capture detail, so the portrait usually ends up looking flat. I am always up for a challenge, so I will not deny a request even if the pelt is a single colour, but I cannot garuntee that these portraits will be of the same quality as my other ones, as again, I am not a professional.
Restarting a Portrait - Restarting a drawing by a customer's wish will add an additional $10 to the fee, unless stated otherwise (I will gladly restart for free if the portrait is only in the beginning stages). This is because not only have I used up my own materials to create the portrait only for it to be discarded, but I will have to continue to use those same materials for the second drawing. Art supplies are expensive and they come from my own expense.
Progress Updates/Communication - I often send progress reports of how the drawing is going, first of the sketch and then so on. This is so the customer can see the progress and can decide whether or not they like how it is going, and can give tips on what they want to see in the finished product. But, PLEASE, if you do not like how the drawing is going, tell me. I can not erase parts of the portraits that have already been drawn, because unfortunately, it's not like paint where I can go over it and restart as I please. I don't want to get halfway finished (or completed) only for the costumer to finally admit they aren't satisfied with it. This is a waste of time and materials.
NON-REFUNDABLE Deposit Fee - There MUST be a payed 20% deposit fee of the final price before I start the coloring process. One we figure out how the portrait is going to go and the additional details, I will sketch out an outline of the drawing. Then, once the customer confirms they are satisfied with the sketch, they MUST pay that deposit fee before I continue forward. This is to ensure no scamming or having a customer bail half-way through.
I have made these rules as I've unfortunately come across many issues with comission art. I hope you understand. Thank you.
