The MUNA registration process has been delayed by difficulties in confirming the availability of the Museum of Australian Democracy and we understand that this, as well as the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on school policies with regard to external events, will impact on the number of teams who are able to attend MUNA 2022.
We have, however, now confirmed that the event can take place from the evening of Friday 19 August through to the middle of the day on Sunday 21 August.
Every endeavour is being made to keep fees at levels similar to 2019 when the event was last held and so are expecting approximately $1200 for a two person team and $1500 for a three person team (final fees to be advised shortly). As costs have risen significantly since 2019, some aspects of the MUNA event have had to be altered to keep costs in check.
We are now seeking an Expression of Interest from sponsoring Rotary Clubs and Districts, as well as schools, so that we can determine viability of the event. We ask that, if you do wish to participate in MUNA 2022, you complete this non-binding form as promptly as possible, so that we can make a timely decison on whether to go ahead. We will make a decision by Friday, 17 June, which is the latest date we can accept an EOI, but may decide not to proceed earlier if responses indicate a lower level of interest than we need.
Clubs, Districts or schools submitting this Expression of Interest will be consulted and kept informed of the plans for the event as they are finalised. There is no obligation or commitment by the relevant club or District to participate should MUNA take place.
