English Language Proficiency

English is the official language of aviation and is the language of instruction at Brandon Flight Centre. See the International Student page for more information on English language tests, entrance standards and exemptions. All students selected for advancement MUST provide English proficiency documentation in the form of a secondary school certificate from a Canadian, English speaking secondary school or Internationally recognized English language test. Specific Aviation language demonstrations are part of the licensing requirements and students are expected to be able to pass these tests upon arrival.

Applications without an aviation medical exam completed shall not be processed until a medical exam has been conducted.
Please note:

ALL students must have a Transport Canada Aviation medical certificate in the category required to undergo the training they are in. Brandon Flight Centre STRONGLY encourages all students to have this certificate in hand before applying if at all possible. If a TCCA Civil Aviation Medical Examiner is not located in your region a category 4 medical attestation may be used in lieu. However this form is not a medical examination, does not garuntee that students will meet the medical requirements upon arrival and BFC shall not be held liable for any delays, illness or injuries, including financial as a result of students who are unable to secure the apppropriate medical certificate upon their arrival in Canada.

A criminal or motor highways record may not automatically prevent admission to Brandon Flight Centre. However, students wishing to pursue a career in the aviation industry should understand that a ciminal record may be an impediment to future job opportunities. Students with a criminal conviction for which they have not recieved a pardon are advised to investigate their potential oportunities in the career path they have chosen prior to commencing flight training. Brandon Flight Centre shall not be held liable for any student unable to secure post-graduate employment.
