    • Potential Host Information-Please read before submitting your request.

Requests: All requests must be submitted by September 30, 2022. Do not contact the Lecturer directly.

Formats: The Darcy Lecture will be limited to a specific number of in-person presentations, as well as a reasonable number of virtual presentations. The Groundwater Foundation and the Lecturer will determine the schedule and format. Non-North American sites will be considered for virtual presentations.

Hosts: We encourage institutions and groundwater groups in close proximity to each other to partner prior to submitting their request. Parent and chapter organizations are strongly encouraged to collaborate on one venue. The form allows for one host and up to two additional co-hosts. Host and co-host(s) must agree on the lecture title as only one will be presented per venue. The primary host contact is the one with whom we will direct all communication.

Facility:  Your physical venue should be able to accommodate at least 50 people in accordance with whatever social distancing mandates are in effect at the time the lecture is delivered. In-person presentation sites must be able to accommodate the use of PPT with a remote advance and a microphone appropriate for the room. Hosts for virtual sites will be for providing the video conferencing platform.

Schedule:  Lecture dates are December 10, 2022 through November 30, 2023.

Larger Events: If the Darcy Lecture is part of a larger event, individuals cannot be charged a fee to only attend the lecture.

In-Person Hosts: Your institution or entity will be responsible for providing the Lecturer with the following:

      • Housing (room and tax) for the Lecturer (usually the night before and possibly the night of the lecture). A prepaid hotel confirmation is required 30 days prior to the presentation date.
      • Meals during the Lecturer’s stay
      • Audio visual equipment as specified
      • Hosts must complete an online evaluation form.

Virtual Hosts: Your institution will be responsible for providing the Lecturer with the following:

      • Designating a moderator to introduce the Lecturer and pose submitted questions
      • Video conferencing platform
      • Host must complete an online evaluation form.

Authority: Hosts will be asked to attest they have the authority to represent their institution or organization and agree with the terms as stated.

Video: Only the Groundwater Foundation (GWF) or its parent the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) has the authority to record any of the Darcy Lecture presentations. GWF and NGWA will record the lectures and post them on the appropriate website at the end of the Lecturer’s term. Hosts will also be asked to attest that no recording of the lecture will occur.
