Sonoma Bach Choir Covid Safety Guidelines
While we love ensemble music-making and believe that it is important for us, for our audiences and for our community, our top priority is and will be keeping everyone safe. In general we will follow the guidance established by the CDC and by local authorities, including the State of California, the County of Sonoma, Sonoma State University and the Green Music Center. In creating the following guidelines, we have studied the available resources and have consulted with several physicians in our community.
1) Each member of the choir will need to provide proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 or if unvaccinated, submit a weekly negative Covid-19 test. If you are a returning member of the choir, you do not need to provide your vaccination card again. For new members, Dianna will be sending out a form to fill in online and upload your vaccine card. Contact her (dianna@sonomabach.org) if you need assistance with the process.
2) We will use the space at each venue to increase our distance from each other, as possible.
3) To provide a safer rehearsal space, we will be running 2 MA-112 True HEPA air purifiers during rehearsals.
4) We will wear masks in rehearsal. Dianna will provide 3D Masks for Singers’, which we recommend. They fit well and stand away from the mouth, rendering masked singing somewhat more comfortable. You are welcome to use your own masks; they must be snug-fitting. Sonoma Bach will be regularly assessing community spread and will address our mask policy when appropriate.
5) We will suspend our traditional shared snacks for the duration.
6) You should not attend rehearsal if:
a) You have even the slightest symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection, including nasal symptoms, sore throat, cough, fever, unusual fatigue, etc; or
b) You have been exposed to a Covid-positive person. You should get a Covid test at +/- five days after the exposure or possible exposure.
—Dianna will be making an audio/video recording of each rehearsal which will be available the next day for anyone who needs to miss a rehearsal for any reason, and also to facilitate practice and review for all of us.
