Step 1. Get A Re-Gauge Report & Sample of your whisky

The first step to sell your cask is to obtain a re-gauge report from your warehouse. This will show all the information about the cask we need to sell it. You can obtain this report and sample from the warehouse manager where your cask is stored and there may be a small fee. 

Step 2. Tasting Notes

Once we receive the re-gauge report and whisky sample, we'll consult with well-known industry experts to compile tasting notes for your whisky. Typically the whisky expert will describe the Colour, Nose, Palate, and Finish, then provide comments on the whisky. This really helps to sell the Cask to potential buyers.

Step 3. Auction Goes Live

Your cask will feature in our monthly online auction and bidders from all over the world can see and place bids on it. A reserve (minimum price) can also be set, although this is not mandatory.

A reserve price ensures your cask will not sell for below the price you stipulate. We can advise on a suitable reserve price for your cask.

Step 4. Payment & Sign Documents

When the auction ends and your cask sells, we take payment from the winning bidder. New ownership paperwork is completed and the transfer of ownership happens at the warehouse. Once that is complete, payment is released to you by bank transfer.
