• 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament

    Please read thoroughly and sign. If you should have any questions or concerns, contact James Hubbard, Tournament Director, at (866) 961-2239. This Tournament will be held at the C.A.E. Arts Academy & Sports Complex (Chavers Community Center), located at 211 Federal Street - Farrell, PA 16121.
  • Player Eligibility

    • Co-Ed participants ages 17+

    • June 14th through August 18th 
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
    • 6 PM to 9 PM  

     

    Cost

    • $50.00 Non-Refundable Registration Fee Per Team, plus;
    • $10.00 Per Person, Per Game   

     

    Adult Open Gym Schedule

    (Team Practice Option - A Cost of $5 per person, per day)

    • Saturdays 1 PM - 3 PM
    • Sundays 4 PM - 6 PM
  • By Signing Up Below, I understand:

    • This is NOT a recreational program.
    • I assume all risks and hazards incidental to such participation.
    • I do hereby waive, absolve, indemnify, and agree to hold harmless the Community Arts Experience, Inc. – except to the extent and amount covered by our liability insurance.
    • I understand Community Arts Experience, Inc. will NOT provide medical insurance.
  • Informed Consent/General Release - Participants

    PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND SIGN BELOW TO INDICATE YOUR AGREEMENT.
    NOTE: THIS FORM INCLUDES A RELEASE OF LIABILITY.

    Since participation in sports activities can be potentially dangerous, Community Arts Experience, Inc. requires that all participants assume all risks associated with C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament by signing this general release.

    For and in consideration of me and/or my child being permitted to participate in C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament, I hereby voluntarily release, discharge, waive and relinquish any and all claims or actions for damages for personal injury, permanent disability, death, or property damage which my child or I may have, or which may hereafter accrue to my child or me, as a result of my/our participation in C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament during play or for any other reason during this event. This release is intended to discharge, in advance, Community Arts Experience, Inc., its officers, employees, community stakeholders, and volunteers, and the owners and maintainers of any indoor/outdoor facility used for C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament from any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with my and/or my child's participation in C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of Community Arts Experience, Inc., its officers, employees, community stakeholders, and volunteers, or the owners or maintainers of any indoor/outdoor facility used by Community Arts Experience, Inc. for C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament.

    I further understand that serious accidents sometimes occur during sports activities and that participants occasionally sustain serious personal injuries, death, or property damage as a consequence thereof. Knowing the risks, I have voluntarily applied for me and/or my child to participate in C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament and hereby agree to assume those risks to release and hold harmless Community Arts Experience, Inc., its officers, employees, community stakeholders, and volunteers, or the owners or maintainers of any indoor/outdoor facility used by the Community Arts Experience, Inc. for C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament, who (through negligence or carelessness) might otherwise be liable to me or to my child (or my heirs or assigns) for damages.

    I further understand and agree that this release, discharge, waiver, and assumption of risk is to be binding on my and/or my child's heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns.

    I further agree to indemnify and to hold harmless Community Arts Experience, Inc., its officers, employees, community stakeholders, and volunteers, or the owners or maintainers of any indoor/outdoor facility used by the Community Arts Experience, Inc. for C.A.E.'s 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament, for any loss, liability damage, cost or expense which may incur as a result of any injury or property damage me and/or my child may sustain while participating in the activity.

  • Basketball Tournament Rules & Regulations

     

    Team Rosters

    1. All players shall play for only one team. Teams will not be permitted to participate until all fees have been paid.

    2. All teams must wear basketball jerseys during their games. Each jersey must have the same color, and they must have numbers. Basketball shoes must be worn. All jewelry must be removed. Necklaces, earrings, and watches cannot be worn during the game.

    3. The team coaches are entirely responsible for ensuring that their players fully understand tournament rules and regulations and sign off on the waiver liability forms.

    4. Each participating team must always have an adult coach on the bench.

     

    Registration Fee

    The registration fee deadline is due before the 1st game. Cash, Cash App ($caeworldwide), or Money orders only. No personal checks. The registration fee is non-refundable.

     

    Playing Rules

    1. Game Clock: Games will consist of two 12-minute halves. The clock will not stop if a team is ahead by 20 points or more. Five minutes will be given to warm up. Games will be played with 3-minute half times.

    2. Overtime: All overtime will consist of three-minute periods with the clock stopping with fouls and violations in the last one minute.

    3. Time Outs: Each team will be given two time outs (1 minute) per half, and they will not carry over. In case of overtime, one extra time out will be given.

    4. Grace Period: A five-minute grace period will be allowed for tardiness, and then if a team does not have four players to start the game, the game clock will start. Eight minutes will allow a team to present four players to start. The team ready and waiting will begin accumulating two points per minute up to eight minutes. If a team does not have four players to start at this point, a forfeit will be declared.

    5. Team Fouls: Players will be given five fouls per game. Double Bonus shots will be given after the 10th team foul per half. There is no 1 and 1.

    6. Technical Fouls: All technical fouls will count as a personal foul. A player who receives a technical foul must sit out of the game for three minutes before he/she will be allowed back into the game. If a player receives a second technical foul during the same game, the player will be ejected from the tournament.

    7. 3-Pointers: High School 3-point line will be utilized in all games. (19’ line)

    8. Pressing: Full court pressing is allowed; however, there will be no pressing if a team is 20 points ahead.

     

    Conduct

    1. All participants, coaches, and spectators shall refrain from using profanity or verbal abuse towards other players, coaches, spectators, referees, and the tournament staff.

    2. This is a Drug and Alcohol-Free Event. No alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed on the premises. Any coach or player(s) engaged in the use of alcohol or drugs will be disqualified from further participation in the tournament.

    3. Team coaches will be responsible for the conduct of their players. Teams and spectators shall abide by the tournament rules and regulations.

    4. No food or beverages are allowed in the gymnasium. Only water and sports drinks will be permitted.

    5. The C.A.E. Tournament Director (James Hubbard) and the tournament staff are not responsible for any personal items left behind, lost, or stolen.

     

    Fighting

    1. Fighting is an attempt to strike an opponent with the arms, hands, legs, feet, or a combative action by one or more players, coaches, or other team personnel. Any member or team personnel who participates in a fight shall be immediately suspended from the game for the duration determined by the Tournament Director (James Hubbard). Length of suspension will be assessed individually and may be up to six months in duration.

    2. Let it be known that spectators and visitors who too elect to involve themselves in a fight during a game will be suspended from the facility for a time determined by the Tournament Director (James Hubbard).

    3. Should any team, player(s), or coach be disqualified from tournament play, there will be no refunds.

     

    Protest Procedure

    The game will not be stopped to handle the protest. If the player(s) show up late and the opposing team's coach wants to protest the player(s). That protest will take place at halftime only. As a result, the opposing team will get two free throws and the ball.

     

    Tournament Director

    The Tournament Director (James Hubbard) has the right to alter rules and bracket structure as needed.
