Thank you for your interest in providing a foster home for an animal in need! The Stafford County Animal Shelter is always interested in adding great new fosters into our network.

The Stafford County Animal Shelter utilizes fosters for animals in our care who need special attention or animals who do no thrive in shelter environments. In addition to this we are also now looking for adult dog fosters for when the Animal Shelter starts nearing capacity.

Your willingness to foster animals from us and provide care for them is indispensable in making some shelter animals for adoptable and preparing them for a forever home with a devoted family. Fostering is not only beneficial for the foster anima, but it can also be verifying warding for the foster family as well. We cannot think of a better way to give back to the community than providing a temporary home for animals in need. The Stafford County Animal Shelter will provide all the supplies needed for fostering.

- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have no record of criminal conviction.
- Have access to phone and email to communicate with the Animal Shelter
- Be willing and able totransport foster animals to Stafford County Animal Shelter or veterinairan as needed.
- Be willing and able to safely provide basic care, shelter, food, time and attention for foster animal.
- Be able to engage with volunteers, staff and members for the public with courtesy and respect.
