The Greensboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated™ (GAC) is committed to helping African American high school seniors maintain academic excellence. This includes ensuring that students have access to the financial resources needed to pursue a college degree. The GAC Scholarship Program will offer five scholarship awards this year in the amount of $2,000 each. We are delighted to present our scholarship application to you!
Scholarships are available to students attending a public, private, or parochial high school within the service areas of Greensboro/Guilford County, Jamestown, Oak Ridge, Climax, Summerfield, McLeansville, Pleasant Garden, Sedalia, Gibsonville, Whitsett, and Browns Summit. To be eligible to receive an award, recipients must have a grade point average of at least 2.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) and enroll in a full-time program at an accredited college, university, or an institution of equivalent accreditation during the 2024-25 academic year. Ultimately, acceptance of the award MUST come in the form of enrollment verification provided on college letterhead, emailled to scholarship@dstgac.org no later than August 31, 2025.
Applications must include the following items:
- Electronic submission of this completed application form
- Official copy of your transcript uploaded as part of the application form
- Two letters of recommendation
- One-page essay highlighting your leadership activities, community service, and college career goals
- Copy of your senior portrait that can be used for media release purposes
- Signature from a parent or guardian.
GAC's Illustrious 22 Scholarship & Service Award is given in honor of our Founders and in recognition of Delta's membership consisting of educated women committed to scholarship and service that engages and inspires. Requirements are a minimum 2.0 GPA and active demonstration of exemplary leadership and awareness through community service within your service area. Additional requirements are noted in the Scholarship Eligibility Requirements section below. Five scholarship awards in the amount of $2,000 each will be given.
