Do You Agree To the Following Terms? Terms: I understand that as a guest, tenant laws are not applicable to this agreement. As a guest of this residence, I fully understand that my stay here is contingent on my sobriety and behavior.I understand that as a guest, my guest status can be terminated at any time. I am committed to working an active 12-step program as defined herein.POLICY STATEMENT Bridges Sober Living provides safe and sober structured housing for adults in recovery who can pay our monthly housing fee and are willing to work an active 12-step recovery program as evidenced by 12-step meeting attendance, working with a sponsor, and working the 12 steps of recovery under the direction of that sponsor. Bridges Sober Living does NOT provide chemical dependency treatment or rehabilitation services OR care or supervision of physically and/or mentally disabled people.Guests must be able to take care of themselves daily and be active in their recovery program. Recovery assistance at Bridges Sober Living is based on a mutual self-help learning process that occurs in the 12-step recovery program and organized other self-help support. MUTUAL COVENANT & AGREEMENT The guest understands and agrees that he is living in a drug and alcohol free shared-housing facility and that he resides at Bridges Sober Living as a member of a family of disabled people who jointly occupy a residential home as defined by the federal Americans with Disability Act. It is expressly understood and agreed that the guest is not a tenant with the usual rights of a tenant nor is the guest granted possession of housing space exclusively as defined by the Code of Texas. The guest further understands and agrees to abide by the current rules, policies & regulations of Bridges Sober Living as spelled out in this Agreement and the accompanying House Rules & regulations, either of which may be revised and updated as necessary from time to time. The guest further agrees to vacate the premises if he is in violation of any of the (9) Primary House Rules & Requirements listed below: Guest agrees that he/she WILL NOT possess and/or ingest any drugs, alcohol, or other mood-altering substances while a guest of Bridges Sober Living.The House Manager must approve all prescription medications. Possession and/or use of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs while a guest at Bridges Sober Living is strictly forbidden and constitutes grounds for immediate discharge. Guest agrees to take random drug & alcohol screening tests when requested. Refusal to take the test failure to take test immediately, and/or a positive test result may result in immediate discharge. Bridges Sober Living Guest agrees not to accept visitors to Bridges Sober Living who he knows are under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Visitors are subject to drug and alcohol screening when there is reasonable suspicion to believe they are under the influence. Guest understands that any form of violence or mere threats of physical or emotional violence is strictly forbidden, will not be tolerated, and constitutes for immediate Guest understands that weapons of any kind are not permitted on Bridges Sober Living premises, including weapons stored or kept in a personal vehicle. Guest understands that theft, criminal activity or behavior of any kind whatsoever while residing at Bridges Sober Living is prohibited and constitutes grounds immediate discharge. Guest understands sexual conduct in or near Bridges Sober Living premises or property is not permitted and constitutes for immediate grounds for discharge.Guest understands that failure to pay rent on or before the due date is grounds for immediate discharge. Late payments are also subject to the assessment of a $25 Any guest who is hospitalized or is, otherwise unable to care for himself daily may be discharged from the house without notice or warning as a health and safety. If the guest violates any of the nine (9) Primary Rules, he/she is subject to immediate discharge from this House without prior notice and/or warning. Penalties for violations of other rule infractions will be determined firmly but fairly on a case-by-case basis. It bears repeating that anyone who is discharged for rule violation(s) always forfeits the unused portion of their housing fee for the current billing cycle. There are no exceptions to this rule ever.FEES AND DEPOSITS The undersigned agrees to pay the agreed guest fee on or before the due date. All guest fees must be paid in advance and are non-refundable for any reason whatsoever. This agreement commences on the date first above written and shall run until terminated by either party with 14 days advance notice to the other. All guests at Bridges Sober Living reside here on a temporary basis with no minimum length of stay. However, we do recommend that guests remain for a minimum of 90 days or longer in order to obtain maximum benefit. Like other sober living homes, Bridges Sober Living requires no long-term commitment.Guest understands and agrees that Bridges Sober Living has in place a firm “no refund” policy. If guest leaves Bridges Sober Living for any reason whatsoever, either voluntarily or involuntarily. The guest forfeits the remainder of his rent for that paid billing cycle – there are no exceptions. PERSONAL PROPERTY Bridges Sober Living is never responsible for a guest’s personal property at any time or for any reason. Guests are strongly discouraged from bringing with them any expensive personal items or any personal items with strong sentimental value. Furthermore, Bridges Sober Living and the owners and representatives of Bridges Sober Living are NEVER responsible for loss or theft of any guest’s personal property.When the guest discharges from Bridges is his responsibility to remove all personal property. Items left longer than three (3) business days will be considered abandoned by the guest and shall become the property of Bridges Sober Living reserves the right to dispose of such property in any way we see fit. ADMINISTRATIVE DISCHARGE In the event that any guest in good standing leaves the Bridges Sober Living property on any given day but does not return home that evening by curfew AND has no contact with the House Manager either by phone or in person for a period of 24 hours that guest will be classified as “missing in action”, he will be administratively discharged from Bridges and his property will be declared abandoned. All fees and deposits paid previously will be forfeited and his personal property will be considered abandoned per the previous section-Personal MAIL POLICY Guests may receive mail addressed to their unit of residence. The actual physical address of the house is posted in the kitchen along with other important information and phone numbers. The Fact Sheet also lists the network name of the Wi-Fi internet network, as well as the corresponding password. When the guest discharges on a permanent basis, Bridges Sober Living will not forward their mail to their new residence. It is the guest’s responsibility to submit a change of address form in a timely manner. DISCIPLINARY ACTION If the guest violates any of the primary nine (9) dischargeable offenses listed in this Agreement, the House Manager will take into consideration input from other guests. After weighing and evaluating all available evidence and information, the House Manager will render a decision and that decision is final and binding on the guest. Sanctions may be imposed on the guest, and they may include immediate discharge from the program. ROOM SEARCHES In order to ensure that all staff and guests follow our zero-tolerance policy for the possession and/or ingestion of drugs and alcohol, Bridges Sober Living and our managers and staff reserve the right to search any guests room for the presence of drug and alcohol at any time without prior notice. These room searches will be conducted at a reasonable time of day, if possible, and will be done in such a manner as to cause a minimum amount of inconvenience and disruption to the guest and his roommate(s). When and if a room search is conducted, there will always be two (2) Bridges Sober Living staff members present during the search to ensure the integrity of the search and the search result. PROPERTY DAMAGE Bridges Sober Living Guest Agreement Bridges Sober Living understands that our properties will experience normal wear and tear that accompanies occupancy by guests in early recovery. However, any guest who intentionally or unintentionally damages or destroys any property owned by Bridges Sober Living while a guest is here will be held financially responsible for repairing the damage or purchasing a new item identical or substantially like the one that was damaged or destroyed. REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS It is the policy of Bridges Sober Living to deny admission to anyone who is a registered sex offender. Therefore, the guest certifies under penalty of perjury that he is NOT a registered sex offender as defined by the US government. THE UNDERSIGNED AGREES TO ABIDE BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS STATED ABOVE. GUEST FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HE/SHE HAS RECEIVED A COPY OF THIS AGREEMENT, AS WELL AS A COPY OF THE HOUSE RULES & POLICIES. THE UNDERSIGNED AGREES TO THE RELEASE AND HOLD BSL HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY RELATED TO THE ENFORCEMENT OF THIS AGREEMENT.
