Details for Fr. Ryan Trip
Tuesday, July 12 @ 8:45 am to 4:30 pm. Bus Tour will leave from St. Basil parking lot. Hosted by Great Day Tours. Lakeview Cemetery, Lunch in Little Italy, and Botanical Gardens.
Tour of Lake View Cemetery - Located in the vibrant University Circle area, this cemetery is open for burials of all races, religions and walks of life and is the final resting place for over 104,000 people. With nearly 70 acres remaining for future development, Lake View will continue to inter people for the next 100 years. Organized in 1869, it’s Cleveland’s historical, horticultural, architectural, sculptural and geological gem. The magnificent collection of trees, shrubs and plants make for an exceptional green space in an urban area. A docent will board our bus for a tour of the cemetery including stops at the Wade Chapel with its glass windows by Tiffany and the Garfield Monument.
Lunch at Guarino’s in Little Italy – Cleveland’s Little Italy is home to some of Cleveland’s best restaurants and cultural institutions. Guarino’s Restaurant is Cleveland’s oldest restaurant, founded in 1918 during prohibition as a speakeasy. Nearly a century later, they welcome you to experience authentic “Little Italy” cuisine in an atmosphere that will take you back to Cleveland’s roots. (Tax and tip are already included in price)
Cleveland Botanical Gardens – Enjoy a self-guided tour of this ever-changing urban escape where you’ll find enrichment and inspiration through fabulous gardens and a greenhouse.
