• Sugarbear Puppy Application - Part 1

  • Thank you in advance for filling out this application! At first glance, you might think "sheesh, this is a little long - are all these questions really necessary?" I know, because I thought the same thing when we got our dogs!

Every family is different, and there are no right or wrong answers. We know many families have two working adults and we don't expect anyone to be a superhero and quit a day job just to be able to take home a puppy. Every puppy family has different needs, and this application helps us identify who needs what information and what homes might make the best fit. If you're a veteran cockapoo owner, we don't want to waste your time regaling things you already know; by the same token, if this is your first puppy, we want to make sure you leave prepared for what life with a puppy may bring. So again, thank you!

  • Our application is in two parts.

Part 1 covers your information, puppy preference, and general questions. Once it is submitted you'll see a link for Part 2

Part 2 asks what you would do in different scenarios involving your puppy.

Both must be completed, but separating them into two parts allows all of your initial information to be saved before you start on the scenarios.

Let's get started on Part 1!

  • Fall & Winter '22 Litters

The timing of our available puppies is entirely up to Mother Nature as she decides Number, Color, and Sex. As such even if we know we have a litter due we could be surprised with 1 puppy or 8 puppies. There could be all boys in a litter or all girls. Maybe you wanted a Red girl and the only girls are Black. Because of all the variables we cannot predict exactly which month or litter we'll have your puppy ready to go. Please bear with us in that :)

The more flexible you are the sooner we can find you a puppy. Typically Wavy Red Females are the longest wait.

We have the following litters planned for this Fall & Winter:

    Bred Litters:

    Red F1 Litter - Merry & Red
    Ready to Go September
Girls Possibly all Reserved by Waitlist

    Red F2B Litter - Astra & Finn
    Ready to Go October

Chocolate Tricolor F1 Litter - Pebbles & Parker
    Ready to go November

    Planned Litters:

    Partis/Merles/Phantoms F1 Litter - Confetti & Parker
Not Bred Yet so dates are unsure, But Maybe November/December

Red F2 or F1B Litter - Rosie & Kado or Rosie & Red
Not Bred Yet so dates are unsure, But Maybe November/December

The Planned Litters Page Page on our website has our planned breeding schedule for the next 6 months. Please review it before joining the waitlist.

  • Color Preference

  • This is where you tell us what type of puppy you're interested in just to give us a feel for what you're looking for. If you're open to any puppy choose "No Preference" for all of them, if there's an area that's important to you then select that particular color, gender, or coat.

Below we'll show some of the coat colors and types we can have:

  • Solid dogs are one color all over.

Abstract dogs are a solid color with white on their toes, chest, muzzle, and tail tip.

Parti dogs are White with colored spots. They are typically over 50% white, and in Red dogs they can be over 80% white with only small amounts of red on their ears and faces.

  • 2022 Puppy Prices

Prices are based on color, so please keep that in mind when selecting your color preferences.

    Red Abstracts & Merles - $2,800

Reds, Sables, Creams, Chocolates, Partis, Blacks, and Black & Tans - $2,400

  • Coat Types

  • Cockapoos come in different coat types:

    • Curly
      • Tight curls like a poodle, these are the best for severe allergy sufferers as the curly hair can prevent dander from being shed into the environment as much as in normal coats.
    • Wavy
      • The classic cockapoo teddy bear look. Their fur can range from tight to loose waves, and look very different based on how long you keep their coat. Jenny & Meadow are both wavy type coats.

    • Keep In Mind, The Adult Coat Can Suprise You
      • There is a large range between the wavy and curly coat types, and sometimes we have wavy puppies that as adults develop *almost* curly hair. They are curlier than your average wavy coat, but have looser curls than a poodle. Since your puppy's adult coat comes in at 7-8 months old we can sometimes be surprised by a sudden coat change!
    • Maintenance
      • When kept long (Over 1-2 inches in length) curly coats require more brushing than the loose wavy coats, but if kept in a shorter cut (under 1") and groomed every 4-6 weeks then the maintenance is about the same between the two coats.

Our Past Puppies Page has many more pictures for you to look through for the different coats and colors.

For coat preference please select if you are interested in Curly, Wavy, Or Both

  • How does it work if you like a puppy?
When there are several puppies of the same color & sex we like to wait until they are around 6 weeks old before Families pick their puppy. That way they can see more of their personalities and even meet them in person.

On this day families will pick which puppy they want based on their order on the waitlist. Havana's puppies Pick Day would be Late June or Early July.

  • What to Expect

  • Completing this application is the first step! This was Part 1 of our application that covers you and what you are looking for.

We added Part 2 to get a general feel of your dog knowledge and how you relate to dogs. Ten scenarios are introduced and ask you what you would do in that situation. If you’re an experienced dog parent then the answers will come easily to you, but if this would be your first puppy you may not know what to say. Splitting the application into 2 lets you get all of this information saved safely away, then you can take your time on Part 2. Both need to be completed for your application to be complete.

Once you complete Part 1 you'll be taken to a page that lets you know Part 1 is submitted and gives you a link to Part 2. When both are complete we will contact you, but please be patient as the applications just opened.

  • Getting on the Waitlist:

Once we receive your application (Part 1 and Part 2) we'll try to reply as soon as we can, please be patient though as we can get a lot of applications and with a busy puppy filled schedule sometimes we don't have time to answer right away.

If you're a good fit for one of our puppies, and the wait time for a puppy is acceptable to you, then you can place a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your place on the waitlist for 14 months. The deposit goes towards the purchase price of the puppy. When litters are born the waitlist is notified and families pick from the puppies based on their order on the list.
