Operation1Stride is a FREE Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Program designed specifically for Veterans & First Responders. Through experiential learning with horses, this program helps participants:
- Build Resilience & Self Confidence: Develop coping mechanisms and strengthen emotional resilience.
- Improve Self-Awarness and Self-Regulation: Cultivate greater self-awareness and learn to manage stress effectively.
- Enchance Communication & Connection: Foster improved communication skills and build stronger relationships with others.
- Find Inner Peace: Connect with nature and experience the calming presence of horses.
Operation1Stride utilizes the unique qualities of horses – trust, honesty, and unconditional acceptance – to facilitate personal growth and healing. Participants will engage in structured ground activities that promote:
- Intention & Mindfulness: Cultivating a sense of purpose and living in the present moment.
- Trust & Connection: Building trusting relationships with themselves and others.
- Communication: Developing effective communication and listening skills.
- Self-Regulation: Learning to manage stress and emotions effectively.
The program takes place at Easterseals InStride Ranch: 1629 Ranch Road, Nokomis, FL.
Program Details:
- 6-week program with weekly sessions on Friday morning.
- Required Orientation: Held the Monday or Tuesday prior to the program start.
- Includes staff introductions, barn orientation and tour.
DRESS CODE:
- Dress appropriately for the weather. Sunscreen & a hat are recommended.
- Comfortable, closed-toe shoes (tennis shoes or barn boots are preferred, please no Crocs or sandals)
- Long pants or shorts of an appropriate length (please no short shorts)
- No dangling jewelry (especially earrings)
Space is limited in each session. A minimum of 6 participants is required. Please fill-out the form below to start the registration process. No prior horse experience is necessary.
