2022 NCAE Summer Leaders: July 25-30
This year's Summer Leaders will be a week of opportunity for NCAE members to be in community, learn new skills, plan for the future, and discuss ideas on how together we can transform our schools and state. All in-person sessions will take place at the Hilton Raleigh North Hills (3415 Wake Forest Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609). NCAE will arrange lodging for members who are traveling to participate in Summer Leaders at the same location.

Note: During registration, you will be able to select options based on eligibility. Only local leadership (President, President-Elect, or Board Member) will have the option to register for the Our Schools, Our Voice team training for themselves and their teams.

Summer Leaders - In Person Training

Our Schools, Our Voice - Building Local Strength to Transform Our Schools Team Training

Schedule:

- Wednesday, 7/27/2022 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Description:

NCAE Local teams will learn skills in school finance, local communications, school board advocacy, strengthen local at each school, back to school best practices, community engagement strategies, and campaign development and escalation. By the end of the week, local teams will leave with a plan for back to school, will receive materials for back to school and be eligible for an NCAE grant to assist membership recruitment activities.

Criteria:
- Participants must be part of a local team that has at least one elected local leader (President, President-Elect, or other local Board member)
- The local elected leader who is serving as team lead must register themselves and the other participants on their team

Our Professions, Our Classrooms - Transformative Professional Practices Training

Description

Over two days, members will have the opportunity to participate in training and discussions on Educational Leadership, National Board Certification Training, Adult Learning, Educational Support Personnel and Support Services. NCAE Members will learn and participate in restorative practices, classroom management, classroom educator legal rights, educational leadership, early career teachers, NBCT and cultural pedagogy.

Criteria:
- All NCAE members are welcome to attend.
- Will be useful for any member interested in furthering their own education or are interested in becoming NCAE Member Trainers on professional practices.
