  • Privacy & Confidentiality Notice

  • During the process of complaint submission, the IAABC will collect some private information about you. This includes your name, contact information, IP address, and location, as well as information about your professional background and relationship to the respondent of the complaint.

The information the IAABC collects in this form will remain confidential according to our needs in processing Ethics Complaints. The information may be used in this process in the following manner:

    • The Executive Director and Ethics Director will receive the form in its entirety
    • The Ethics Team may view the form in its entirety
    • Other member organizations of the Joint Code of Ethics may receive information submitted in this form during Joint Ethics Panel procedures

Your identity will remain confidential to the organization(s) involved and your name will not be disclosed to the person you are submitting the complaint about without your written permission.

After you submit an ethics complaint, the IAABC requires that you keep the complaint process and results confidential. This means that you cannot tell other people, except for your legal counsel, that you have filed a complaint or the outcome of the complaint.

If you choose to file a complaint with any other organization that is part of the Joint Code of Ethics, you may disclose that you have already filed a complaint with the IAABC.

By continuing with this complaint, you acknowledge the above and verify your understanding of the degree to which the IAABC will maintain the confidentiality of the complaint process, and you agree to uphold our confidentiality requirements.

  • Information about the Complainant

The complainant in an ethics complaint is the person filing the complaint (that's you).
  • We require people who submit ethics complaints to include their full name. Knowing the source of the complaint allows the Ethics Team to assess several factors relating to the strength of the complaint.

As a reminder, your name will not be disclosed to the person you are submitting the complaint about without your written permission.

  • Please enter your email address so the Ethics Director can contact you if needed. This should be an email address where you are comfortable receiving confidential information and should not be a shared email address.

  • You may enter your phone number so that the Ethics Director can contact you by phone if needed, but it is not required.

  • Your professional abilities and experience may factor into our assessment of the complaint. We collect data about these items so that we can understand your background and ask you appropriate follow-up questions if needed. Mark all that apply.

  • Information about the Respondent

The respondent in an ethics complaint is the person you are filing the complaint about.
  • The IAABC can only accept complaints against individuals that we can identify. Please enter the full first and last name of the person. If you do not know their name, please contact the Ethics Director at ethics@iaabc.org to discuss your situation and for assistance in potentially identifying the individual.

  • The IAABC can investigate complaints against current and former IAABC members. We can also administratively investigate and pursue action against non-members who claim to be associated with the IAABC.

  • Information about the Complaint

Please provide as many details as possible. The Ethics Team will assess the strength of the complaint based on the information you enter.
  • If you include personally identifying information in your description, including information identifying witnesses or other parties, the Ethics Director will keep it private. We will not attempt to contact any witnesses or other parties without your permission.

The respondent in the IAABC ethics complaint process does not receive the full description of the complaint that is submitted by the complainant. However, a general summary of the complaint must be provided to the respondent by the Ethics Director according to our procedures. Respondents are given the opportunity to defend themselves against allegations.

If you have any concerns about what will be disclosed to the respondent, please explain your concerns and limitations in detail.  Please understand that if you do choose to limit what is disclosed and the Ethics Team determines that the respondent was not able to fairly submit a defense, the strength of the complaint may be compromised.

  • Information about Alleged Ethics Code Violations

  • The ethics complaint process requires complainants to identify which specific section(s) of the Code of Ethics they believe that the respondent has violated. Please read through the Code of Ethics and identify the appropriate sections based on your complaint.

  • Evidence

  • Please submit any and all evidence you have supporting your complaint. If you have evidence that you are unable to submit using this form, please contact the Ethics Director at ethics@iaabc.org immediately following submission to detail the additional evidence and add it to the complaint file.
