Traffic gardens are safe spaces designed for children to learn how to ride a bicycle and the rules of the road. Signage, road markings, and striping can be painted onto a paved surface so that kids can practice before they are ready to navigate active city streets. The next phase of improvements to South Common will include improved accessibility between the parking lot and the track, landscaping near the park entrance at the corner of Summer and South Streets, updated signage, and irrigation for the athletic field.
