Family Forming Disciples
Our family faith formation program is a modified model of the Archdiocesan family program, Families Forming Disciples (FFD). FFD will meet the spiritual needs of STA families by providing family catechesis through whole family groups, peer formation, hands on activities, service work, and community support.
This program will also fulfill the requirements for sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion for children not enrolled in Catholic School.
Overview
This year's theme is "What's the Story?- Gods Word and Our Response. It will focus on getting to know the story of salvation history, the Bible. Eight overarching themes will be introduced in the 9 month program. Each theme will include, one Family Catechesis meeting, one classroom reinforcement opportunity and one Hearts and Hands or Liturgical Living activity.
STA YDisciple (7th-9th)
Young Disciples (Y-Disciples) brings teens closer to God and helps them recognize His voice in their lives. Teens are challenged to love, believe, know and serve Christ and the Community.
Y-Disciple is two semesters, Fall Semester and Spring Semester. Each comprised of 10 classes and one Teen Worship Night.
Teens are expected to complete 10 service hours per year. Service hour opportunities will be provided year-round.
STA YAlpha (10th-11th)
Youth Alpha is an environment where 10th and 11th graders can have exciting, engaging, and meaningful conversations about the faith. This program is meant for upperclassmen that are seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation. Through the community, lessons, and conversations that will take place in Y-Alpha there will be a better understanding of who you are in Christ, where you belong in the church, and what your purpose is.
In addition to the 15 week program, teens are required to attend a Spring Retreat.
