Intensive Pscyhotherapy
Intensive psychotherapy is designed in such a way that the client attends more frequent sessions and longer sessions with the therapist, generally within a relatively short period of time.
During our 30-minute initial consultation to ensure we are a good fit and that this format is appropriate. You can expect that session length and frequency will be determined at your initial consultation. Afterward, we schedule a 1.5-hour Assessment and Preparation session. We will determine and prioritize the targeted issue.
The subsequent sessions will involve several accelerated change therapy modalities as well as psycho-education and what I call "self-rescue" tools to help you respond to any future distress. After each session, we will discuss the after-care plan.
Intensive psychotherapy is not covered by health insurance and is considered private pay. I do not formally assess for a medical diagnosis or use procedural medical codes, rather I focus on the multidimensional person, their targeted issues, and goals for personal wellness.
Consider the advantages of intensive sessions. It allows clients to return to their busy lives, achieves full resolution, and is long-term cost-effective. I understand it's a significant investment, and I always advise clients to make an informed decision about the specific goals.
I am currently accepting clients for intensives from June - to August 5, 2022. Intensives are held on Mondays, Thursdays from 10-1 and 5-8 PM, and twice a month on Saturdays from 8 am-12noon for 2, 3, or 4 hours.
