Quest for Education and Arts is proud to present our inaugural Summer Fine Arts Leadership Camp. Summer Fine Arts Leadership is open to teens ages 13 - 18. Leadership camp runs in conjunction with our Summer Fine Arts Program and is designed to take campers through an adventure of confidence building and talent discovery. This is a 3-part camp culminating at the end of camp with the production of the Summer Fine Arts Olio. Each part contains theory and learning with our extremely talented instructors as well as practical application in each area.

Part 1 - LEADERSHIP. Campers will work our way through leadership skills by analyzing and evaluating leadership styles, team building skills, communication, interpersonal skills and teamwork. Leadership application will have campers engaging with younger students throughout the week.

Part 2 - PRODUCTION. Campers will learn the ins and outs of show production including sound, lights, technical production, blocking, and flow. Producation application including running the technical aspects of all three camp end shows.

Part 3 - DESIGN. Campers will design three camp end shows. They will produce and execute marketing, show organization, programs, format, and more. Design application includes managing all the pieces of each show in order to produce a well executed show and experience for campers and families.

Campers will spend the first two hours of their day exploring leadership, production, and design. The rest of their day will be spent using their leadership skills to assist counselors and instructor along with our administrative staff in the daily operations of camp.

    BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS AND DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

To ensure summer fine arts camp at Quest for Education and Arts is enjoyable and memorable for everyone, we have a strict behavior policy. We want all campers to have a positive experience, and we strive to work out potential problems with the children and their parent/guardian. Quest for Education and Arts reserves the right to remove a child from camp if their behavior is destructive, disruptive, threatening, intimidating or creates a safety hazard.

All participants enrolled in Quest’s summer camp must agree to follow the Camper Conduct Agreement.

If behavior becomes an issue, the following steps will be taken:

1st incident: The child will be given their first verbal warning and the instructor will explain what behavior is unacceptable. Parents will be notified of the behavior issue at the time of pick up.

2nd incident: The child will be given their second verbal warning. The camper will sit down with their counselor to discuss the issues, review expectations, and create a plan of action either written or verbal. Parents will be notified of the behavior issue at the time of pick up.

3rd incident: The child will be removed from camp activities and meet with the camp director to adjust the plan of action and create a written contract regarding behavior, in collaboration with their parent.

If the problem is corrected, the camper will return to the group to continue activities. If the behavior or attitude has not improved the parent/guardian will be notified and the camper will be asked to go home.

In the case of persistent behavior issues, or behavior of an aggressive or violent nature, the camper will go directly to the camp director, and the parent/guardian will be notified immediately to remove the child.

All medications must be in original containers labeled with the camper’s name and should be stored in their backpack. Staff and faculty are not qualified to administer medications to your camper.

Epi-pens, inhalers, and other prescription medication may accompany your child to camp. If your camper takes a daily medication during camp hours, they should be able to self-administer this medication under the supervision of camp staff.

Quest for Education and Arts does not have medical staff on site, but all camp staff are trained to handle medical emergencies. If an emergency occurs, staff will assess the situation, contact the parent, and contact emergency services if necessary
