Join the Team!
TUM DASH Exoskeleton Student Club, founded in November 2021, consists of motivated bachelor and master students from the Technical University of Munich (TUM). To our knowledge, we are the first student-initiated team in Germany working on exoskeletons. Exoskeletons are wearable robots that can augment, reinforce, or restore human limb and muscle performance. They can be used in various fields, including medicine for rehabilitation, industry for increasing efficiency and aerospace for power augmentation.
As a goal, the team aims to build a lower-limb exoskeleton for fully paraplegic patients to help them regain mobility. We plan to attend the CYBATHLON competition taking place in 2024. CYBATHLON is a multi-sport event organized by ETH Zurich that takes place every four years, in which people with physical disabilities compete against each other using technical assistance, such as powered prostheses, wheelchairs, exoskeletons, and more. In the exoskeleton category of the competition, the pilot wearing the exoskeleton aims to complete everyday tasks, such as walking up and down the stairs, crossing obstacles on streets, etc.
With this recruiting phase we are looking for more motivated people to join the team. If you are a student at TUM that is looking for a challenge and for an opportunity to apply your knowledge and ingenuity to a new field, you are strongly encouraged to apply.
If you want to be part of an incredible team and help build the technology of tomorrow, apply now! We are looking forward to hearing from you and welcoming you as a new member to our team!
