Exhibition Dates: Oct. 6th - 29th, 2022 Reception: Thursday, October 6th 5:30pm-7:30pm Deadline to Apply Online: August 15th, 2022 The Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is pleased to host 'Maps of the Intangible', a juried exhibition from October 6th to October 29th, 2022.  Traditionally maps present information about the physical world in a visual way. For this exhibition, artists are asked to explore the idea of “the map” through an introspective lens. Artists are encouraged to consider the idea of “space” beyond the physical: internal, emotional, subconscious, metaphysical,... etc. All media is welcome!

Karin Rutkin is a visual artist who works in ceramics, illustration and painting. She graduated with a BFA in ceramics from SUNY New Paltz in 2009. She has lived and worked in New York, Asheville NC, and now resides in Iowa City, IA working out of her home studio. She is inspired by her extensive travels across the US, nature, architecture, science and the metaphysical. 

Cost of Submission is $15. Entry does not guarantee acceptance, the Juror will make final selections.  All work must be original and made in the past 3 years. You may submit three individual pieces with two images per piece (total of no more than 6 images). Images must be sized at 1800 px on the longest side at 300 dpi (A 4X6 image would be sized at 1800x1200). All media is welcome! Artists will be asked to share a brief explanation of their piece (200 words), please include any cultural or historical references if applicable.
