• University Connection Writing Review Form

University Connections will be resuming essay review services on August 15th, 2022
  • University Connection will provide expert feedback on one draft of your college admissions essay such as the Common Application essay, the Coalition Application essay, personal statements, resumes, and other application writing.

Admissions experts from University Connection will provide written feedback that will help you craft an essay or resume that stands out from the crowd. You will receive actionable advice on how to tell your story with passion and professionalism.

Each piece of writing must be submitted individually with a new submission form for each one. Do not submit multiple essays or resumes on one document.

Please allow for at least a two-week turnaround time for each edit evaluation between July 15th and October 1st. Turn around time can go up to at least three weeks between October 1st and December 15th.

  • How to share your essay or application information with University Connection

In order to ensure the editors at University Connection have access to your essay or application information, please create a Google Document of your essay or information on Google Drive. If you do not know how to create a Google Document, you can learn how to here.

You must first share the document directly with Marshall at mbailly@lichange.org, so it can be sent to our partners at University Connection. Please share the essay as "can edit" rather can "can view" or "can comment."

Then, create a shareable link to your essay as well. Be sure to share the essay as "anyone can edit" to ensure the editors have access to your document. Your share settings should look like the below screenshot.

  • Activity Section

The Common App activity section is an opportunity to demonstrate to the Common App colleges your talents, skills, and specific examples of extracurricular activities you’ve participated in over the last few years.

Extracurricular activities can be a great opportunity for admissions officers to see how an applicant has self-directed their passions and interests

You can have a maximum of 10 Activities. Each activity only gets 150 characters on the activities list for the Common Application.

  • College and Scholarship Application Resume

Some colleges strongly recommend that you submit a resume along with your application. While others forbid it. So be sure to check with individual colleges to see what they prefer.

    Your resume:

    • Serves as a foundation for the Common App Activities List (or vice versa—see this post if you’ve already written your activities list).
    • Gives teachers and counselors a framework for their letters of recommendation.
    • Provides you with a list of ready-made talking points for an admissions interview.
    • May inspire your Common App essay.
    • Is a requirement for many scholarships or internship and employment opportunities.
  • Should be Empty:
