    2022 RMKIF Summer Iaido/Kendo Shinsa

    Dates/Times: Sunday, July 17, 2022 - Iaido starts at 10:00 AM & Kendo at 12:45 PM

    Check-in Times: Iaido - 9:15 - 9:45 AM, Kendo: 12:00 - 12:30 PM

    (DO NOT BE LATE FOR CHECK-IN TIME)

    Shinsa for those wanting to achieve the rank of 6 kyu – 1 Dan                     

    Shinsa Fee (non-transferable):

    Kyu (17 & under) Kyu (18 & over) 1 Dan (all ages)
    $30 $40 $50

    Menjo Fee (Due immediately after notification of results - check or cash):

    Kyu (17 & under) Kyu (18 & over) 1 Dan (all ages)
    $20 $30 $50

    Make sure you are ready to add a copy of your menjo if you have a current rank, essay if applicable and cross-federation application if applicable. If you received your last rank from RMKIF, you do not need to provide a copy of the menjo. You will need to provide a copy your written test if you are testing for 1-kyu or 1-dan.

    All applications must be submitted by July 9, 2022. The shinsa fee(s) must be received at address and/or postmarked NO LATER THAN July 9, 2022.

    Fees will be refunded if notice to withdrawal is sent to Monica Iwakabe, herrmoni2@aol.com, by July 9, 2022. If notice is not received by this date, if you are late for the check-in time and/or you miss the exam for any reason, the shinsa fee will not be refunded

    NOTE:  If the applicant is under the age of 18, the application must be completed by a guardian or parent.

    Those who passed the exam must be prepared to pay the menjo fee immediately after the shinsa via cash or check.

    Essay is required for those wanting to challenge the 1 kyu or 1 dan shinsa, regardless of age. Please download a copy of the form if you have not download it from the email. Please upload using the button below. You can upload both the Iaido and Kendo essay.

  • WAIVER and COVID POLICY

    I, intending to be legally bound, do hereby, for myself, heirs, executors, and administrators, waive, release, and forever discharge any claims for damages which I may incur, or which may hereafter accrue to me, against the All United States Kendo Federation, Rocky Mountain Kendo/Federation, Rocky Mountain Budokan, and its officers, instructors, members, and officials for all or any damages which may be sustained or suffered by me in connection with my participation in the shinsa, or arising out of transportation to and from the site of the shinsa held at Rocky Mountain Budokan.

    I confirm that I will not present myself at the shinsa if I have COVID symptoms, and have read the COVID policy.

    Where the participant is a minor, I, the parent or guardian, do agree to the above waiver and COVID policy, and give permission to the exam officials to seek medical attention for my child in the event of sickness or injury.
