This application is for your benefit as well as ours. The information you provide will enable us to better determine what you are looking for in a dog, which dog will fit best into your lifestyle, and how such dog would fit into your home. Please be as detailed in your answers as possible to help ensure the best fit between you and your prospective dog. Remember that getting a dog is a lifetime commitment. Each dog that comes through rescue WILL need training. Types of training can range from leash reactivity, proper socialization, house training and walking better on a leash. If you do not feel like you can make such a commitment, please stop here. The adoption fee for each dog is $250. This helps cover the cost any expenses incurred while caring for the dogs that come into our rescue. Our rescue runs on 100% volunteers. The people who are reading your application and setting up phone calls with you have full-time jobs. If The Best Friends Dog Rescue, Inc reads your application and feels like you would be a candidate, we will first send you an email within 1 week of your application being submitted to set up a time for a phone interview.

I understand that I am applying to a rescue in Portland, Oregon. This means that I am willing to drive to Portland for up to 2-3 meet and greets to see if I am a good match for the dog I am interested in.
