Projects in this category encompass all architectural work that is residential in use, including single-family and multi-unit housing, and projects in rural, suburban, and urban environments.

COMMERCIAL, CIVIC, AND INSTITUTIONAL ARCHITECTURE
Projects in this category encompass all architectural work that is non-residential in use.

- Institutional
INTERIOR DESIGN
Projects in this category focus on the interior design and decoration of spaces, and will be judged on the quality of the work independent of the interior architecture. Interior architecture will only be considered if it is executed in conjunction with the decoration and notated as part of the single submitting designer's scope.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN
Projects in this category encompass all work associated with the landscape and natural environment, and may be located in rural, suburban, and urban contexts. Clarity of the applicant's scope of work should be clear along with "Before and After" drawings/photographs as part of the presentation.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Projects in this category recognize achievement in restoration, preservation, and adaptive reuse of historic structures of high architectural caliber. Entrants should demonstrate the process as well as the finished product. Applicants should demonstrate compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation.
RENOVATION & ADDITION
Projects in this category should make clear delineations between ‘before’ and ‘after’, existing structures that remain, and new work and additions. Clarity of the applicant's scope of work should be clear in the presentation.
PLANNING AND URBAN DESIGN
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Projects in this category represent works of arts and crafts created as a permanent element of an architectural project. Entrants should be directly involved in the specific design or execution of the work.
FINE ARTS
Projects in this category should have been created in association with architectural projects, be related to design and placemaking, or be a depiction of the built environment.
RESEARCH AND DOCUMENTATION
EMERGING CLASSICIST
Projects in this category should represent work completed in an academic setting within the past 5 years. Active students may submit projects located in Florida and the Caribbean. Recent graduates who are currently employed at an ICAA member firm in the awards region may submit any student project, regardless of location. Applicants must be current members of ICAA at the time of submission. Projects may represent any of the above categories.
